Set it up
Works with WordPress 5.8+, WooCommerce 6.0+ and PHP 7.4+. Compatible with WooCommerce HPOS.

Install the plugin
Download the zip, then go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin in WordPress and activate Bulk SMS India.

Connect your account
Open Bulk SMS India → API settings, enter your username, API key and DLT sender ID, then click Check connection and balance.

Turn on order SMS
In the WooCommerce tab, enable the statuses you want and paste your DLT-approved text, using variables like {first_name} and {order_id}.

Add OTP and forms (optional)
Enable checkout OTP in the OTP verification tab, and form alerts in the Forms tab.

Turn on WhatsApp (optional)
In the WhatsApp tab, add your WhatsApp API key and send a test message. Then pick WhatsApp or WhatsApp, SMS if it fails as the channel for any order, OTP or form message.

Send a test
Use Send a test SMS on the dashboard, then watch it arrive and turn Delivered in the SMS log.

Frequently asked questions
Is the WooCommerce SMS plugin free?
Yes. The plugin is free. You only pay for the SMS you send from your Bulk SMS India account.
Does it send SMS in real time?
Yes. Order SMS is submitted the instant an order changes status, and the plugin checks the delivery report a minute later and every 5 minutes after that.
Does checkout OTP work with the block checkout?
Checkout OTP currently works with the classic checkout shortcode. You can also place the [bsi_otp_verify] shortcode on any page.
Will it send duplicate SMS if an order status changes back and forth?
No. Each status SMS is sent once per order.
Can I send Hindi SMS?
Yes. Type your approved Hindi text; the live counter shows how many SMS parts it uses.
Can the plugin send WhatsApp messages?
Yes, from version 1.1. Add your WhatsApp API key in the WhatsApp tab, then choose SMS, WhatsApp, both, or WhatsApp with SMS fallback for each message. Order updates can include the product image.
