Quick answer
If an SMS is not delivered, the delivery report usually shows why. The most common causes are:
- Template mismatch. The text does not match the approved DLT template exactly. See template mismatch error.
- DND number. Promotional SMS do not reach numbers on the DND list. See DND error.
- Link or number not whitelisted. URLs and callback numbers in the SMS must be whitelisted on DLT. See whitelisting.
- Wrong header or template link. The template must be linked to the header you are sending from.
- Invalid number. Wrong length, landline or a disconnected number.
- Phone off or out of coverage. The operator retries for a while, then marks it expired.
- Promotional timing. Promotional SMS outside 9 AM to 9 PM are not delivered.
