Quick answer
One SMS credit covers one SMS part. A message longer than one part uses more credits.
| Message | Characters | Parts (credits per number) |
|---|---|---|
| English | up to 160 | 1 |
| English | 161 to 306 | 2 |
| English | 307 to 459 | 3 |
| Hindi/Unicode | up to 70 | 1 |
| Hindi/Unicode | 71 to 134 | 2 |
Long messages use slightly fewer characters per part (153 or 67) because a small header joins the parts back together on the phone.
Example
Sending a 200-character English message to 10,000 numbers uses 2 credits per number, so 20,000 credits.
Check any message with the SMS character counter.
